Pre & Post-surgery

The road to recovery shouldn’t wait until after surgery! The pre-operative or “pre-rehabilitation” program is designed by our doctors of physical therapy to help prior to surgery, so that the patient can have a great outcome after surgery. Thus, post-operative physical therapy helps individuals recover from orthopaedic surgeries. Surgeons prescribe physical therapy either to return the patient back to their pre-injury level of function or to improve a patient’s ability to function after a disability has been correct through surgery. Pre & Post-Operative Rehabilitation goals:

  • Mentally prepare for surgery.
  • Reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Restore range of motion.
  • Improving muscular control of the injured joint.
  • Normalizing movement patterns prior to your surgery.
  • Improved overall well-being and fitness.
  • Gain a good understanding of the exercises that you will perform immediately after surgery.
